CHOICE at Transfiere 2025: Presenting Sustainable Pathways to Spain’s Innovation Community

From March 12–14, 2025, the CHOICE project was proudly presented at Transfiere 2025, the European Meeting on Science, Technology, and Innovation, held in Málaga. Our partner BIOAZUL took the lead in showcasing CHOICE at their exhibition stand, engaging directly with key actors in Spain’s innovation ecosystem.

Transfiere is the leading R&D&I forum in Southern Europe, connecting over 5,200 professional attendees across sectors -from research institutions and startups to government representatives and technology providers. As one of the most high-impact knowledge transfer events in the region, it was the perfect venue for presenting CHOICE’s mission to a dynamic and forward-thinking audience.

Spotlight on CHOICE: Engaging Stakeholders Through Dialogue

At the BIOAZUL stand, visitors had the chance to:

  • Explore the CHOICE project’s goals and integrated approach to climate mitigation in food and land use,
  • Learn about our Spanish pilot, which focuses on promoting sustainable practices in olive groves and livestock farming,
  • Engage in direct conversations about climate-conscious behavioral change, data-driven pathways, and innovative stakeholder engagement.

The CHOICE poster was prominently displayed, drawing interest from research communities and regional government representatives alike. BIOAZUL team members provided personal briefings on the project’s approach to mainstreaming Integrated Assessment Models (IAMs) and explained how local actors are involved in the co-design and testing of sustainable food system interventions.

“The Spanish pilot generated strong interest among stakeholders,” shared Antonia Lorenzo, CEO of BIOAZUL. Many visitors were excited to see a project focused on local transformation while contributing to global climate goals.

Through this visibility and direct engagement with several stakeholders and the European Research Community, CHOICE reinforced its role as a connector of science, policy, and practice -turning insights into impact and fostering a shared commitment to sustainable innovation.
